In addition to subscribing to our newsletter and contacting us via email or the online contact form, you can...
- Get to know an active member (we want to know you too!).
- Join our Facebook group and engage in discussions with other THB members.
- Let us know where your interests lie... local food, community energy generation, alternative transport (to cars), low energy entertainment, good health, heart and soul development, recycling/"waste", gardening, reskilling or something else.
- Tell us what other groups you are involved in. How could we collaborate? Can we come to your meetings?
- Come along to a workshop or social event listed in the THB Calendar - and let us know of any you'd like to share with others.
- Bring your excess garden produce or other items to one of the many local fruit and vegie swaps.
- Draft a post for our news blog honouring an elder, sharing an area of interest or passion or a personal story of resilience-building journeys, or promoting a coming event or initiative relevant to THB members.
- Write articles, tips or commentary for the local papers.
- Scan the local papers and community noticeboards for relevant events and submit them for inclusion in our calendar.
- Host a movie screening, discussion group, games-in-the-park afternoon, bike ride or potluck dinner.
- Attend a monthly meeting of the Initiating Group to chat and plan activities.
- Participate in a skillshare by offering to teach a skill to others, or post a request to be taught.
- Take part in one of the sustainable living challenges that occur throughout the year, eg Local Harvest Challenge in April, Plastic Free July, or Buy Nothing New in October.
- Get creative and share it with us. Here's some ideas - draw a picture about an inspiring lower energy future, write poetry about having hope, or collect great quotes.
- Help us raise awareness of the need for, and benefits of, a lower energy future.
- Respond to council issue papers and draft strategies.
- Read the Transition Handbook to understand Transition Initiatives better.
- Spearhead a working group on transport, energy, reskilling or heart and soul.
