The Spring Festival celebrated the launch of a community garden at their supporting community centre. Festival activities were workshops on composting, food preserving/bottling and bike maintenance, face-painting for the kids, accompanied by zany local musicians with sustenance provided by a BBQ and Ethiopian food.
The event attracted lots of young families in particular and the organisers had thought up interesting ways to involve the kids. For example they were encouraged to plant up and take home a lettuce seedling.
The Spring Festival had a great buzz and I always glow from spending time with the Transition community. I'm looking forward to catching up with them again at the Transition Convergence on Saturday 6th November. Congratulations on your first event MINTI!
